Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary.  We had such a great day......started off with Brunch with the Beatles at B.B. King's in TimesSquare.  Has anyone seen this show?  It was fantastic!!!  Strawberry Fields is a Beatles impersonator group that has been around for quite some time.  They had a show on Broadway for awhile.....Beatlemania.  They also performed at Shea Stadium this past year on the 40th anniversary of the Beatles performance at the stadium.  I highly recommend the show (but must admit it was VERY LOUD).  The brunch buffet was very good as well.  A large selections of foods and it was hot.

We spent the rest of the day as tourists.  Bryant Park -- watched the ice-skaters and shopped at the booths that are set up every year at this time for Christmas.  Went to see the windows at Lord and Taylor, walked up to Rockefeller Plaza to see the tree-in-preparation, the ice skaters, St. Patrick's Cathedral.  Even spent sometime at FAO Schwartz.  From there, we headed to Lexington Avenue and uptown, and peeked in restaurant windows until we found one we liked.....found a nice little Italian restaurant that had delicious food and decent prices.

We left the house at 10:00a.m. and didn't return until nearly 12 hours later.  We were joined by our fellow travelers, my husband's sister and brother-in-law....we do the NYC tourist thing with the every year.  The weather was perfect for walking around the city.  I must say it was a very memorable anniversary day.

Be well all!

We still live in Astoria, so we're lucky that a trip into the city is all of 10-15 minutes.

Congratulations Janet.  I am glad you enjoyed your anniversary day out.  I live 2 hours north of the city so I don't get in as often as I wish.  When I do come down it is on the Metro-North and we always do a whole day.  Shooting for Christmas break to take a trip to Rockefeller Center to ice skate - actually my daughter will skate I will watch. Then to see what shows are open with tickets, Toys R Us to ride the ferris wheel again - and maybe dinner at Rosie O'Grady's or The Pig and Whistle Pub. Phil is retired after 41 years at Con Ed and he's had enough of the city - he stays home and keeps the dogs company.

Congratulations again and best wishes for many more Happy Anniversary's

Happy Anniversary!  The missus and I will be celebrating number 25 on Dec. 11.  The trip to Vegas was a sort of anniversary trip.  Saw some real sights too, if you know what I mean!

Just not able to get to the city for the tree lighting this year. Just back to work - had a 15 year old root canal go south on Wednesday - was able to see the dentist Monday and he couldn't save it.  The pain was excruciating - vicodin barely took the edge off.  I missed Thanksgiving dinner and no one saved any turkey for me - I'm not mad - I'll just get even - they want Lasagne for Christmas - hmmm -- I think I hear a Smithfield ham calling me.

Will watch the tree lighting on TV while wrapped up in a blanket with a cup of tea.

Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving - even with this tooth ache - I know I have so many things to be thankful for.
