Here's the latest in the MC Grads FFL. Ernie Doyle has finally tasted the bitter pill of defeat. He lost to yours truly. He continues to lead the league in points scored. We have 5 teams out of twelve with a record of 3-1; The Warriors, coached by Aj Singh, Minney Me, led by Gerardo Gonzales, The Humblers, directed by Darryl Bryan, The Titans, inspired by Ernie Doyle and Bill's Thrills who have stumbled into a tie for first with me as their mentor.

Not often J.V. teams get any ink except Championship week.

Excuse me for feeling proud of this bunch , they are not the most talented group we ever had but damn they play hard. They won only two games as Frosh last year.

Prep JV also wins in Battle of the Boulevard

Perhaps inspired by the performance of the varsity football team the night before, the St. Francis Prep junior varsity team defeated rival Holy Cross, 20-7, at Kissena Park on Saturday afternoon.

Matt Gericke, who rushed for 122 yards, scored the first of two touchdowns on a 57-yard run. Brendan Stackpole hit Bart Sweeney on the two-point conversion to give the Terriers an 8-0 lead.

After Holy Cross (2-3, 0-3 CHSFL ‘AA’) responded with a touchdown to cut its deficit to 8-7, Stackpole found Gericke on a crossing pattern for a 23-yard touchdown in the closing moments of the first half. William Holmes was stopped on his attempted two-point conversion and St. Francis Prep (4-1, 3-0) went into halftime with a 14-7 lead.

The Terriers made the most of short field position on their first possession of the third quarter when Gericke scored on a 9-yard run to put St. Francis Prep in front, 20-7. The Terriers had a big goal line stand late in the third quarter to help seal the Battle of the Boulevard victory.

Here's the latest update on the MC Grads fantasy Football League. Minney Me, owned by Gerardo Gonzales and The Warriors, who belong to AJ Singh, have taken the lead, each with a 4-1 record. There are 5 other teams posting 3-2 records, not far behind the leaders. The mighty Titans, led by Ernie Doyle, took it on the chin for the second week in a row.

Speaking of football....my husband has had season Jets tickets since the early '70's, and I've been to exactly two games -- one at Shea and one at the Meadowlands.  Not exactly my cup of tea, not a big fan of tailgating, but I'm going again this Sunday.  I only agreed because they couldn't get a fourth to go, and the weather is supposed to be nice.  J-E-T-S- Jets Jets Jets!!!

Well, that was a good time!  Fantastic weather and a great game.

Maybe I won't wait another 10 years before I go again.

Somehow it seems fitting that your quote had a quote by Bart Simpson after it. It said: "I don't know! I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again! "

Janet it was only a great game because they won. Favre was the worst he has ever been luckily the Bengals are a total disaster. The jets are 3-2 but they are not playing well.

The j.v. football season came to a wet , muddy and windy close today for the second seeded St Francis J.V. football team in the semi-finals of the CHSFL "AAA" playoffs.  Final record 9 - 2 .

The Bowl Championship Series controversies continue. This year, however, the controversial system has benefited my wife's beloved Sooners as they were moved into the #2 spot above Texas. OU should have no problem with Missouri tonight and it will be interesting to see if Alabama can fend off Florida in their game this afternoon.
