Given enough time, I could see Terry joining the middle politically while being our own Holy See.

redneck

A slang term, usually for a rural white southerner who is politically conservative, racist, and a religious fundamentalist (see fundamentalism). This term is generally considered offensive. It originated in reference to agricultural workers, alluding to how the back of a person's neck will be burned by the sun if he works long hours in the fields

I think when people hear the term "redneck" that this is the meaning most of them think of.

I would be curious is there actually was another use of the term redneck....but this is the one I too always understood. It seems that the skin on the neck takes on a permanent red color due to continuous damage....contrasted against the pale pale white skin you never forget the look.

As you know there is a separate MaterChristi.com website.

Couple years ago (2004) I and 4 other students coordinated a reunion of our 64 grade school class.  It was very sucessful we raised $2500 for school's scholarship fund for students with short term needs for tuition assistance

TROLLs found out about the reunion through classmates  I was listed as coordinator.  These Troll people then used my MC info and went to the MaterChristi.com.  I had not used the invisability button when I registered they got access to my address, theN our telephone number.  Then THE crank calls started.  These ANNONYMOUS people would call inquiring about the  reunion and the call would THEN deteriorate into extremely graphic descriptions of alleged sexual abuse by priests.  My wife and daughter received many of these calls.  I even got call that 500 members of the  "Pedophile Victims of Priests" were going to demonstrate outside the catering hall the night of our reunion.  Don't have to tell you the fears that created at reunion commitee meetings.  We had 42 couples coming, teachers,  current Principal , curent Pastor as well as the nuns in residence today.

I was at a loss how these people tracked me so my son sat down and checked every site I was registered at and found the leak.
I notified M.C. com to delete me as a user, erase all personal information.  I deleted my profile at classmates and messages I had up about the reunion.

After waiting two years I re-registered at M.C.com under a new username, this time used the invisability button.  I provided my information to the webmaster & was approved to start posting.

I posted 3 mesages one of which was a reply to "Send an American troop in Iraq a letter of support; what American could object to doing that?"

My reply was I could not send letter, that even a letter of support  showed my support for the war.  No need to explain my reply, M.C. Class of 68.

My reply was met with the demand I identify myself, remove the invisability factor from my profile.  This demand was entertained by the webmaster and he advised me the users of MC.com had voted after the 2004 election debate that users be fully identified by name and address.  No i had not participated in the 2004 election debate.

I refused this demand stating the site indicated I could use the invisability factor.  I know the webmaster at MC.com and he knows me.  He offered me a compromise I could remain invisable but if any user requested my name and address he must give it to them.  Stated take the compromise or be banned from posting at MC.com   Again I refused.
So now I am banned from reading or posting at the MC.com message board and drama board.  After attending the 25 reunuion,  the the Drama Reunion party where I cooperated as much as I could.  Frank used my contact list from 1993 Oliver Reunion party (THAT I ORGANIZED) to contact the cast of the Oliver, I am now banned because some redneck republican graduate living in Colorado didn't like my reply to his support of the troops/war request.

I am disappointed in Tony Leto and his lack of backbone in this matter and told him so in an e-mail.  I even showed those on the MC board how my son had taught to find the name, address, telephone number  and the names of every person living in the "Colorado Complainers" residence.  I disguised the information, just posted enough info with ? in between to let the guy see how dangerous lack of invisabilty can be.
So if anyone at M.C..com wonders why I no longer post it is because I choose to protect my family.
Attend another  Materchristi function I doubt I ever will.  Would not know what to say to Tony Leto if I met him there.
Be aware if you are registered at MC.com that your name and address is now public information.  Site says invisabilty is in effect but Tony advised IT IS NOT. He just has not got around to updating his program to let people registering know that.

Wow, that is a long series of strange, seemingly unrelated happenings. I agree that postings should not be anonymous but then I think people should be able to hide their contact info as well. There are strange characters out there sometimes on the web.
