I enjoyed the Interview with God in the Thanksgiving thread, and thank you for it.  You are clearly getting soft in your old age, as am I.

Although I refer to my personal religion as "Confronting the Void", sappy stuff like this does really touch me.

Thanks Billy,

Someone sent that to me and my first reaction was:  "Oh Jeez, one of those pious religious bits."  However, it was so well done, I found it touching.

Guess I'm turning into a sap, you're right.  Soon I'll be knitting couch pillow cases with the faces of JFK and Elvis.

Be good,

Thanks Frank  and Bill for this thread which got me to go back and open the link.  Nice message there.  Email material earlier.  I'm always impressed that so many put their time and talent into creating these beautiful messages.

"Interview with God" was certainly worth the look.

I teach college physics. Occasionally a student will bring up the religion-science "controversy." Without going into detail, I don't think the controversy would exist if people would just think clearly, but that is not the point I want to make here.

I don't like to get embroiled in religious discussions in a physics class. However, I like to tell my students that physics can explain the colors of the rainbow, but not why the rainbow is beautiful. Beauty is completely unnecessary to the proper functioning of the universe. I believe God gave us beauty to remind us of His presence.

Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving. We got to spend it with our son, his wife, and our daughter. First time we have all been able to get together in a couple of years. A blessed time.

Billy,

Despite getting old and sappy, I have retained a few Woodside characteristics.  So on Sunday, I had bet a few bucks on a wildly complicated scenario.  Have cleared several hurdles, I needed the Seahawks to win by 5 points for my dreams to come true. (yes, I bet against the Giants believing that they, like the Jets, are snake bitten.) Right now it seems like a blur but I believe the Giants were down by 8 with 1 1/2 minutes to go.

Well, the Giants are cursed as their loss of three winning chances proves.  And the curse rubbed off on me as they somehow couldn't get enough points to win but managed to box me out as well.

Never again!
