In my training class for my current position, I noticed I was clearly older than most.  The class was composed mostly of recent college grads.  I asked if anyone in the class had ever 'dialed' a phone - actually put a finger in the hole and rotated.  No one really knew what I was talking about.

I suggest you send the visuals to webguy and ask him to insert them.

There were about 60 'visuals' in the last post.  To copy & insert them in the correct spot is an undertaking I'm not willing to be volunteered for. I will gladly post a photo or 2 or 3 but once you get in the double digits I have to draw the line.

I didn't think there were so many visuals nor did I count them.

In that case I suggest you (or Bro. Joe) delete the attempted pictures.

I think it is time Bro. Joe learn how to post. I still think anyone who posts should: POST, VERIFY, Delete (if unsucessful)
Other wise we page through a bunch of empty space and when they post successfully we never see them because they are pages back.

mundane, but

checked w/snopes

PASS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW

I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service technician

(could also be Telus)  who was conducting a test on  the telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch  nine( 9 ), zero( 0 ),  the pound sign ( # ), and then hang up.

Luckily, I was suspicious and refused.    Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by
pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your  telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number.

I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many  local jails/prisons
DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE !  The GTE Security Department requested that I share this information

with EVERYONE I KNOW.

After checking with Verizon they said it was true, so do not dial 90# for anyone!

Beautifully stated

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to
ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably
more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so
remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best
friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry
because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you
love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've
never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute
of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end,
be afraid that it will never begin.

nice sentiments here -

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day. I thank You for my being
able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a
forgiving  God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me
and You keep  on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have
done, said or thought that was not pleasing to You.

I ask now for Your forgiveness.  Please keep me safe from all
danger and harm. Help me to start this day  with a new attitude and
plenty of  gratitude. Let me make the best of  each and every day to
clear my mind so  that I can hear from You. Please  broaden my mind that
I can accept all  things. Let me not whine and  whimper over things I
have no control over, even when it's the o nly response  I can think of
when I'm pushed beyond my limits.
I know that when I can't pray, You  listen to my heart. Continue
to  use me to do Your will. Continue to  bless me that I may be a
blessing to  others. Keep me strong that I may  help the weak. Keep me
uplifted that I  may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for
those that are lost  and can't find their way. I  pray for those that
are misjudged and  misunderstood. I pray for those  who don't know You
intimately. I pray for those that will delete this  without sharing it
with others. I pray for those that don't believe.
But I thank You that I believe. I believe that  You change people
and that You change things.  I pray for all my sisters and brothers and
for each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace,
love and joy  in their homes, that th ey are out of debt and all their
needs are met. I   pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no
problem, circumstance, or situation greater than You. Every battle is
in Your hands for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that
   sees them.

   AMEN!

?? THE YEAR 1906 ??

This will boggle your mind,
I know it did mine !

The year is 1906.
One hundred years ago.
What a difference a century makes !
Here are some of the
U.S. statistics for the Year 1906

************************************

The average life expectancy in the
U.S. was 47

A three-minute call from
Denver
to New York City
cost eleven dollars.

There were only 8,000 cars in the
U.S.,
and only 144 miles
of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was
10 mph.

Alabama, Mississippi, Iowa, and Tennessee
were each more
heavily populated than California.

With a mere 1.4 million people,
California was only the 21st
most populous state in the Union.

The tallest structure in the world was the
Eiffel Tower !

The average wage in the
US. was 22 cents per hour.

The average
U.S. worker made between $200 and $400 per year .

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year,
a dentist $2,500 per year,
a veterinarian between $1,500
and $4,000 per year,
and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.

More than 95 percent of all births in the
U.S. took place at HOME.

Ninety percent of all
U.S. doctors
had
NO COLLEGE EDUCATION !
Instead,
they attended so-called medical schools,
many of which were condemned in the press
AND
the government
as "sub-standard."

Sugar cost
four cents a pound.

Eggs were
fourteen cents a dozen.

Coffee was
fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair
once a month,
and used borax
or egg yolks for shampoo.   (EE-EWW)

Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from
entering into their country for any reason.

The Five leading causes of death in the U.S. were:
1. Pneumonia and influenza
2. Tuberculosis
3. Diarrhea
4. Heart disease
5. Stroke

The American flag had 45 stars.
Arizona , Oklahoma , New Mexico , Hawaii , and
Alaska hadn't been admitted to the Union yet.

The population of Las Vegas , Nevada , was only 30 !!!!

Crossword puzzles,
canned beer,
and ice tea
hadn't been invented yet.

There was no Mother's Day
or Father's Day.

Two out of every 10 U.S. adults couldn't read or write.
Only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine
were all available over
the counter
at the local corner drugstores.
Pharmacists said,
"Heroin clears the complexion, > gives buoyancy to the mind,
regulates the stomach and bowels,
and is, in fact,
a perfect guardian of health."
( Shocking ? )

Eighteen percent of households in the U.S.
had at least one full-time servant or domestic help.

There were about 230 reported murders
in the ENTIRE U.S.A. !

Now I forwarded this from someone else
without typing it myself,
and sent it to you and others
all over the United States ,
possibly the world,
in a matter of seconds !

Now having read this
try to imagine what it may be like
in another 100 years.

here's hoping visuals arrive-

Life  is simple. It is us HUMANS that make it hard.

This  is a simple but very wise message - Enjoy   ...........

THIS  IS SOME GOOD ADVICE!

If  a dog were the teacher, you would learn stuff like:

When  loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass  up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience  of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.

Let  others know when they've invaded your territory.

Take  naps.

Stretch  before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive  on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid  biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to  lie on your back on the grass.

On  hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

No  matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and  pout...! Run right back and make friends.

Delight  in the simple joy of a long walk.

Eat with gusto and  enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.

Be  loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you  want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is  having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

I  AM THANKFUL FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO  ARE THINKING OF ME!

SEND THIS TO PEOPLE YOU CARE ABOUT. . .  I JUST DID
