The Webguy is correct: it is Smiff.

Truth is stranger than fiction: not only did Paul Winchell, the voice of "Tigger" die last weekend, so did actor John Fielder (12 Angry Men, Raisin in the Sun) who was the voice of "Piglet" in the Winnie the Pooh films!!

I know this is going to sound really weird but i'm positive i read somewhere that Paul Winchell held the patent on the original artificial heart that was used by Dr Christian Bernard in the first and really early heart transplants... from puppeteer to artificial heart inventor ?

Dear Russ,

No!

"The Three Stooges"films were

not taken off the air on WPIX TV Ch.11

in NYC in 1961.

They were moved onto another kids

tv show"The Three Stooges Firehouse"

hosted by "Fireman Todd"Russell(Formerly

"Big Todd"on NBC/ABC TV's"Rootie Kazootie

Club!").

"The Three Stooges Firehouse!"was

seen weekday evenings on WPIX TV Ch.11

in NYC from Thursday September 7,1961 to

Friday March 15,1963.

"Capt.Jack"McCarthy reran the post 1947

"Three Stooges"films with Moe,Larry & Shemp

and the 1960's "Popeye"TV Cartoons on"The

Popeye/Three Stooges Show"weekday evenings

from monday March 18,1963 to Friday June

21,1963.

"Fireman Todd"returned to man"The Three

Stooges Firehouse!"weekday evenings on Ch.11

from Monday June 24,1963 to Friday August 31,

1963.

"Officer Joe"Bolton became "Police Chief Joe"

Bolton..when he manned"The Dick Tracy Cartoon

Show"weekday evenings on WPIX TV Ch.11 in NYC

from Thursday September 7,1961 to Friday August 31,

1963.

"Officer Joe"would mc the cinematic antics of

the boys on"The Three Stooges Show"on Ch.11

weekday evenings and afternoons from February,

1964 to thursday May 7,1970.

When Mrs.Charren's "ACT" and "Forum,Inc"

forced WPIX TV and other tv stations to pull

"The Three Stooges"films from the airwaves.

Due to negitive effects of the violence and

the sterotypes of ethnic groups that were

depicted in the films.

(Which in IMHO..Is total and unfair

biased B-!)

Anyway,

Thanks For Remembering

"Fireman Todd"Russell and

"Officer"/"Police Chief Joe"Bolton

and their efforts in NYC Kids TV,

I guess that was the longest it's taken on this site to get an answer considering the original posting was from June 2004.

And let's not forget Paul Tripp's appearance in 1966's "The Christmas That Almost Wasn't".

Thanks.

Dear Tom,

"Farfel The Dog"puppet

was not Paul Winchell's

Puppet.

He was Jimmy Nelson's

puppet along with "Danny O'Day",

Humphrey Higsby" and "Fatatateeta

The Cat".

Mr.Nelson and his puppets use

to promote the hell out of Nestles

Candies and"Nestles' Quick"(now

known as "NestQ")chocolate powder

mix and chocolate syrup for milk.

Mr.Nelson and his puppets also

hosted a local kids tv puppet show

on WNTA(Now known as WNET TV Ch.13

in the Newark,N.J./NYC viewing area)titled

"Studio 99/12!"

"Studio 99 1/2!"was seen weekday

evenings and afternoons on WNTA TV Ch.13

in Newark,N.J./NYC during the 1961/1962 tv

season.

Before WNTA became(WNEDT/WNET)TV Ch.13

a part of the PBS TV Network.

Anyway,

Thanks For Remembering

Paul Winchell and his puppets,

P.S. There was another puppet

character that appeared on "The

Sandy Becker Morning TV Show"..

"Jingle Dingle The Elf like Weatherman"

..But Sandy Didn't create or own that

puppet character a man named Jason did

and he want more monies from Sandy

and from his producer of his Weekday

morning kids tv show and from the

station execs at WABD TV Ch.5 in NYC

for the use of his character.

Sandy,His producer and the station

execs at WABD TV refused to Pay

Mr.Jason more monies for the rights

to use "Jingle Dingle"..So Sandy Create
