The Rene Descartes of the MC web site, his motto: Cognito ergo sum-I think therefore I am.

Some people try to break things down into black and white perspectives.  Only you, one of the most open minded thinkers to escape from Woodside, can figure out a way to turn abortion into either a black or black issue, no gray areas considered , no gray matter apparent between your ears.

With apologies to Mr. Descartes and to all on the site, it's "Cogito", we regret the typo.

Terry, when you were employed by the NYPD and served in the Mounted Unit, were you the one on the top or the bottom?

The bottom?

Which end?

3 out of 5 pregnant African-American women will abort their child.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson once said:
"That is why the Constitution called us three-fifths human and then whites further dehumanized us by calling us 'niggers'. It was part of the dehumanizing process. The first step was to distort the image of us as human beings in order to justify that which they wanted to do and not even feel like they had done anything wrong. Those advocates of taking life prior to birth do not call it killing or murder, they call it abortion. They further never talk about aborting a baby because that would imply something human. Rather they talk about aborting the fetus. Fetus sounds less than human and therefore abortion can be justified".

Just curious, Tuffy...Does your respect for the sanctity of human life extend to an opposition to the death penalty? If so, I commend your consistent principles. If not, why not?

My thinking on Capital Punishment falls in-line with that of the Church.
Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2267 Assuming that the guilty party's identity and responsibility have been fully determined, the traditional teaching of the Church does not exclude recourse to the death penalty, if this is the only possible way of effectively defending human lives against the unjust aggressor.

Once the aggression is over Capital punishment is no longer an alterative.

My two cents worth is that any unborn child who commits a capital offense deserves to die just like the grown-ups do!

Terry, I tried to find an artful way of calling you a horse's ass for your post on abortion. I found it ridiculous that you could only mention black people in quoting those statistics, which we won't even bother to check and will take your word for their accuracy. How about the other 68%? Can you account for them? Are they from red states? Blue states? Well off or poor? Married, single? Whites, hipanics, asians? Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindi, etc? How many aborted pregnancies were the result of rape? Incest? Sexual abuse?
Sure, I can do better than call names, I just think that many of your posts are not very well considered and are the result of an extremely narrow world view. Cogito ergo sum. You like to use Latin, use this little piece of brilliance from time to time.
On the other hand, you should be happy that I got to you before Donna, Ms. Category 5 herself...I get the feeling that after she was done with you there would be little left other than a some broken teeth, a beat-up Elmer Fudd hat and and a few unrecognizable strands of DNA.

Thank you so much for the lovely compliment.  I have a very personal interest in this thread & I think it best I  gently stay away from it. If I get involved I'm afraid it will get out of hand.  So I'll defer to you......

Terrence....shame on you, you know better than to post such a graphic picture. You should have posted a warning of some type . I know I found it extremely upsetting.  Please in the future, think before you post something like that.  I realize in the heat of the moment our common sense sometimes goes out the window but please think of others who would be upset by something so very graphic .  Thanks.....

John, first of all, I didn’t start this thread - YOU DID.
Secondly, if you want stats here’s the link: http://womensissues.about.com/cs/abortionstats/a/aaabortionstats.htm
knock yourself out.

I have, John wrote:"an extremely narrow world view." Is the "world view" the right view? I say, no, it’s not. Time you started thinking for yourself John, and not let the "world view" shape your opinion.

Russell - can't stand the heat.... Or, are we only allowed to talk about benign subject matter?

Your right, I apologize. Must be the cop in me. I must have been desensitized by all the crime scene photos I've seen. But! I'm glad your were upset.

It's not that I have something to say in this thread.

It's just that I couldn't make out what Belladonaitalia was saying.

That pic you posted went a little way over the line. At first I couldn't make out what what it was. But after I blew it up to take a better look at it, I almost went sick. I'm sure alot other people almost did the same.

When you can't stand the heat, you either "get out of the kitchen" or you turn down the heat. I ain't leaving.
